Barbara Colombo, Ph.D.

Barbara Colombo, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist and core faculty in the doctorate program in Applied Psychological Sciences program at Fielding Graduate University. She directs the Affect & Adaptation Lab, where she leads research on cognitive reserve, aging, emotion regulation, and neuromodulation. In addition to her academic work, Dr. Colombo maintains a clinical practice, integrating evidence-based and neuroscience-informed approaches to support clients across the lifespan. Her work bridges research and clinical application, with a strong focus on promoting brain resilience, healthy aging, and individualized assessment. She has extensive experience teaching clinicians and graduate students and provides workshops, consultation, and training on aging, cognitive reserve, and brain-based interventions.
