- Licensed as a psychologist (masters or doctorate) in any state and in good standing
VPA Member: Academic
- Holds an advanced degree in psychology, mental health counseling, social work, or other related field
- Engages full-time in teaching or research in the field of psychology
- Does not provide clinical services for a fee.
VPA Member: Associate
- Licensed as a mental health care provider, other than as a psychologist OR
- Has made outstanding contributions to, or performance in, the field of psychology
- Does not have voting rights
VPA Member: Rostered
- Holds an advanced degree in psychology, mental health counseling, social work, or other related field
- Completed degree less than two years before the effective date of membership
- On the roster of non-certified, non-licensed psychotherapists
- Actively pursuing licensure in Vermont as a mental health professional
- Does not have voting rights
VPA Member: Student
- Enrolled as a graduate student in an accredited college or university
- Primary field of study is psychology
- Does not have voting rights
VPA Member: Public
- Does not meet any other criteria for membership
- Does not have voting rights
