Rick Barnett, Psy.D., MSCP, LADC
Rick Barnett, Psy.D., LADC, MS, is a licensed clinical psychologist and licensed alcohol and drug counselor. He also holds a post-doctoral master's degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology, and completed a year-long training in psychedelic psychotherapy and research through the California Institute of Integral Studies.
Dr. Barnett runs a private group practice focusing on treatment of adults and older adult, as well as individuals for whom the state has mandated alcohol use and other drug use disorder treatment.
He is currently Chair of the VPA Legislative Committee, in whihc role he is actively lobbying for passage of prescriptive authority for psychologists with advanced training in Vermont. Dr. Barnett previously served as President of APA Division 55 (2020) and President of the Vermont Psychological Association (2011-2014). He co-founded the Psychedelic Society of Vermont in 2021 after completing his studies at CIIS, and is also the founder and CEO of CARTER, Inc, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the art and science of achieving lifelong freedom from addictive disorders.
