Marley Balasco (she/her), Psy.D. is an inpatient psychotherapist at the Brattleboro Retreat. She received her master's degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University, and her bachelor's degree at Norwich University.
Marley's experience comprises a myriad of treatment settings, including a wilderness therapy program, community mental health clinics, a residential program, university counseling centers, and an outpatient adolescent medicine program. She particularly values opportunities to collaborate as a member of an interdisciplinary team to facilitate more compassionate and effective care for adolescents and families in crisis.
As a clinician, Marley integrates relational psychodynamic and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) within an intersectional framework. She maintains a position of empathy and curiosity as an invitation to practice self-observation and commit to positive change. Her clinical and research interests are broadly focused on the experiences of adolescents who struggle with the residual impact of trauma, identity-based oppression, anxiety, and depression.
