This presentation will explore some common dilemmas that emerge as we encounter past, present, and anticipated future dual relationships with clients in psychotherapy settings. Special issues such as working in small communities (whether based on population size or working with a specialized group that one encounters in multiple ways), working with other professionals/healthcare workers, and special considerations when working in community mental health and outreach settings. Models and frameworks of decision making will be explored, and case examples presented.
